"I would like to say thank you very much for all the support you provided last week. Most conferences venues do well but the treatment I received at the Doubletree was exceptional. Brett in particular must have felt exhausted much of the time and it was admirable that you stayed smiling throughout.  I felt no stress whatsoever and was able to focus fully on hosting the event.

The man making the DVD recording was also a pleasure to work with.

I will be returning for another event from Nov 15 – 18.  This one will have more attendees and have a much larger exhibition.

Gates Curriculum Grant Meeting


"Thank you. I’ve looked over it and it looks like it is in order. We were very pleased with the meeting facilities and with the attentive staff. I swear Emily is a mind-reader. It was incredibly useful to have the business center available. As always, the food was a hit. Not only is it very convenient to have it available all the time so we could schedule breaks around the meeting needs and not the food, but it was delicious and included lots of healthy options. I really cannot imagine anything they could do to make offer a better meeting location. If there was anything we wanted immediately Mario or one of the other staff members did it immediately.

One thing I learned that I would pass on to anyone scheduling a meeting there, or for that matter coming to the Bethesda office, is that they use Roadmaster Transportation and the prices are much cheaper than cabs.

I can’t thank you enough for arranging this and handling all the changes so calmly. You made it possible for me to just concentrate on getting ready for the content of the meeting without worrying about the logistics. Many, many, many thanks."

As I mentioned, the AU Accounts Payable/Procurement and Contracts Departments had a very good experience, the food was really good (as always) and I was happy to have them experience a professional-grade conference center. This is a large departure from some of our less desirable training locations on campus. "I organized a 3-day company training session and had various hotel groups compete for our business - Doubletree Bethesda won on points, they weren't the cheapest for guest rooms but they scored high for location and their meeting package. The meeting package is very good value - the meetings rooms are comfortable, sound proof, and well-equipped, and the continuous refreshment buffet is excellent. Last year we did something similar with a Hyatt hotel and got nickle & dimed over coffee etc, Hilton Group just charge per head per day and it's a much better approach"

"We had 60 attendees for a medical conference, and this was the perfect meeting location! We have hosted the same conference venue at more expensive hotels around the USA, but the facility at the Doubletree far exceeded the other 4 star rated hotels. The business meeting place offers a multitude of amenities you will not receive at other hotels, and our conference participants had nothing but praise for the business center and hotel staff, and the service offered at this hotel. They make you feel like they are on your side to ensure your conference is a success. At many hotels, you feel like the meeting place is second place to a very nice place to stay, but not so at the Doubletree - it is a great place to hold a meeting/conference. Don't go elsewhere, you'll be paying too much!"

Success and equilibrium!

The well supplied break areas (Imagination, Now-&-Then), healthy choices for lunches and snacks, reliable Wi-Fi, Grand Ballroom's four-screen set-up and sound system, $1-a-drink tokens, the PURE air quality process, Herman Miller chairs, and nearby Concierge and Business Center are examples of how well functioning linear tools (left brain) when matched with a remarkable staff can produce the best in right brain functioning (enthusiasm, creativity, positive relationships).
