American University
Founded just before the turn of the 20th century, American University is a liberal arts research university affiliated with the Methodist Church. It's well known for its programs in international law and human rights, public policy, public affairs, and international service. There are 7 schools and colleges, including the Kogod School of Business, the College of Arts and Sciences, and the Washington College of Law. The beautiful campus is nestled in the northwestern part of Washington, DC.

Where is the main campus?
AU's main campus is located in the northwest quadrant of Washington, DC near the Tenleytown neighborhood adjacent to Ward Circle. The Tenley Campus is about a half-mile from the main campus .
What is the oldest building on campus?
Hurst Hall was once the home of the department of history. It is now the department of environmental studies and biology, the Center for Teaching Excellence, and the Honors Program. Construction was completed in 1898. It's named for Bishop John Hurst, AU founder and first chancellor.
