- The National Mall is open 24 hours a day, except for memorial closures on December 25. Park rangers are usually on hand at memorials from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m.

What monuments are part of the National Mall?
Visitors to the National Mall can visit several landmarks and museums. A prominent one is the Lincoln Memorial at the end of the Reflecting Pool. From the steps facing out, one has the perfect view of the Washington Monument. The Vietnam Veterans Memorial and the Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial are also popular sites to visit.
What annual events are held at the National Mall?
Each Memorial Day weekend, the National Symphony Orchestra holds a special concert. Beautiful pink arboreal blooms are celebrated in grand style each March in the National Cherry Blossom Festival. Around the 4th of July, the Smithsonian Folklife Festival takes place over 2 weeks, coinciding with an Independence Day concert on the West Lawn.
